Promoting a Violence-Free Society: Activism Rally in Abuja

Our staff working at the country office of Caritas Nigeria, together with their counterparts in other agencies of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), embarked on an impactful 16 days of activism rally within the Durumi area of Abuja, where the team distributed relevant educational materials to residents.

Raising awareness in the fight against Gender Based Violence Imo State

Joining the Imo State chapters of the National Human Rights Commission, the Ministry of Women Affairs, the International Federation of Women Lawyers, the Nigerian Bar Association, and civil society organizations, the Caritas Nigeria team in Imo State organised a road walk around strategic areas of the state capital to sensitize residents about 16 days of activism.

Sixteen Days of Activism Campaign against Gender Based Violence in Abia State

The 16 days of activism campaign kick-started with the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Caritas Nigeria office in Abia State. Setting a powerful tone for the upcoming activism against Gender-Based violence (GBV) in the region, our Chaplain, Rev. Fr. David Aguneri, in his homily, addressed the pressing issues around gender-based violence (GBV) and reiterated the importance of fostering equality within society.

As Caritas Nigeria joins the world in advocating against Gender Based Voilence, staff working in the agencies of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) headquartered at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria lent their voices to the global campaign against gender-based violence (GBV).

IWD: International Women’s Day 2023

March 8 every year is marked as International Women’s Day (IWD), a day when women all over the world are celebrated for their symbolic being. With the theme: Embrace Equity,  Caritas Nigeria joined the rest of the world to remember her women who despite other demanding tasks, contribute efficiently in reaching out to those most in need.
